Brian grew up in the piney woods of Longview, Texas and went on to attend Texas A&M in 2009.
Smith Allen Insurance agency was established in 1952 by Preston Smith and Albert Allen, former agents representing Millers Group in Fort Worth. Preston’s son, Larry Smith, joined Smith Allen in the 1960’s. He led the agency for four decades amidst several market cycles and the ongoing transformation of the personal insurance landscape in the Dallas area. Preston’s grandson, Stan Smith, joined Smith Allen in early 2003, becoming the third generation of the Smith family to lead the agency.
Since Smith Allen first opened they have been writing insurance in the Park Cities, SMU, Highland Park, Lake Highlands, M-streets, Lakewood and Uptown areas of central Dallas. Over recent years they have expanded into North Dallas, Plano, Richardson, Frisco, Allen, McKinney and many other surrounding areas.

During the summer of 2012 Brian was blessed with the chance to study abroad. His experiences during “the trip of a lifetime” included traveling to nine different European countries, being present for the 2012 Eurocup, canyoning in the Swiss Alps, gondola rides through Venice canals, and running with the bulls in Spain.
After graduation in 2013, Brian used his Psychology degree and passion for helping others while working in Houston at a center for children with autism called Spectrum of Hope. Brian spent two years at Spectrum of Hope engaging in one-on-one therapy with children working on educational, social, and functional skills. Brian applies the qualities he developed at Spectrum in understanding and individualizing each client here at Smith Allen.
Brian is very active in our community. He serves as an officer in the Dallas A&M Club, is a proud Rotarian in the Rotary Club of Dallas, member of Safer Dallas Better Dallas, and teaches children’s Sunday School at Watermark Church. His favorite aspect of his role at Smith Allen is the opportunity to build relationships while making a meaningful and positive impact in people’s lives. Through the good times and the bad, Brian’s philosophy on life is that “everyone should strive to be the person your dog thinks you are.”
